Retreat at Centro Arte Cabbiolo

We invite you to join us for a weekend in August at the wonderful oasis of the Centro Arte Cabbiolo in Lostallo, the perfect place to step out of time, immersed in a landscape of sights and sounds that invites you to explore the realm of perception, the nature of movement, and the space of connection. The seminar consists of about 12 hours of classes and will focus on the theme of contact and the reawakening of the upper limbs as organs of exchange, interaction, and expression—as pathways that both separate and connect worlds, crossing the boundaries between what we perceive as the inner and outer world. We will explore arm movement, starting from its origin in the shoulder blades, as a fundamental component of the vitality and dynamism of bipedal balance, in the constant interplay between the forces of gravity and lightness.
And we will explore how this movement can aspire to greater freedom in its expressive forms, developing a sense of connection with the whole body and with space, refining the sense of touch, and seeking the deep bond between hands and heart. Through movement and dance, the practice of mindfulness and breathing, deep relaxation, and meditation, we will experience the many ways to connect with the different levels of our being, rediscovering, within this “finite” and “defined” territory that is the body, the unlimited potential of every movement—from the simplest to the most complex—as part of the same primal, creative, and vital gesture. |

Anna Keller and Simone Hörtig
co-lead the group, bringing together diverse perspectives, resources, and practices, drawing on their experience, which ranges from dance to yoga, from the somatic approach of Body-Mind Centering to the knowledge and practice of Ayurveda. The seminar activities take place in the octagonal hall of Centro Arte or outdoors.

Meals at the Centro Arte Cabbiolo are carefully prepared, always fresh and homemade, using regional and organic ingredients.
The Centro Arte can rely on a large vegetable garden, which allows them to have as many fresh, homegrown vegetables as possible. Full board includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Herbal teas made from herbs grown in their garden are included and available from morning through dinner time. |
